• Northgate Leisure Centre Installation

Northgate Leisure Centre is the site of CCEL’s first solar pv project. It was commissioned in September 2016 with the benefit of the government feed in tariff and a power purchase agreement with Cheshire West and Chester borough council. The 192 roof mounted solar panels produce enough electricity to power 12 average households.

  • LED Lighting Projects

CCEL has an ongoing project to replace inefficient lighting in community centres with LED lighting. The project is supported by a grant from Power to Change through its New Generation Fund. The main aim of the project is to demonstrate that an energy efficiency programme can be a successful business model for other community groups to replicate.

  • Christleton Solar Array

The Christleton Sports Centre project was commissioned in February 2020. It consists of 222 roof mounted solar panels producing 60 Kilowatts peak power. The panels were installed by local contractor Genfit for the Brio Leisure facility on the site of Christleton High School.
