Fund Awards 2025
Chester Community Energy’s 2025 annual grant for energy saving projects has awarded a total of £6,000 to local community groups.
The community fund is generated from revenues received from its rooftop solar PV panels on leisure centres in West Cheshire.
We are grateful to Cheshire West Voluntary Action who, once again, helped with the administration of the awards.
A panel of three members of CCEL were responsible for the selection process.
The panel consisted of Julie Savory, Graham Booth and Simon Brown and each application was assessed according to an established points scoring process.
Applications were received from:
CC Hub CIC
CHAWREC
Chester City Supporters Club
Tattenhall & District Parish Council
Wesley Methodist Church
Tarporley Parish Council
Neuromuscular Centre
oH Chester Design Foundation CIC
Ellesmere Port Parish
Tattenhall Tennis Club
Hoole Community Trust

Once again it was LED retrofit projects that demonstrated best energy saving and, combined with excellent community services, these proved to be the most successful applicants. The grant was therefore divided between the following four applicants.
