The solar panels at Christleton Sports Centre are now fully operational. They have generated 10.3kWh’s this afternoon, within the short amount of time we had light, and have already saved 3.73kg/CO2. The solar panels at Neston Recreation Centre will be installed next week.
Work has already began and going to schedule with our project at Christleton Sports Centre. Congratulations to the receivers of the Community benefit fund for 2020. (Applications received in 2019). Stanney Grange Community Centre were awarded £1,900 to fund LED lighting installation; Grozone were awarded £1,100 to assist them with their off-grid electricity project; Keep up the good work and make the change happen!!!
Local energy community benefit society, Chester Community Energy, is gearing up to install two further solar PV installations after a successful share offer. Our scheme is no longer accepting applications for the £3,000 fund for 2020. By the 23rd of January we will be in touch with the shortlisted applicants with notes and guidance for the outcome of their applications and the next steps.
Many thanks to all our new supporters and members – we have successfully reached our target of raising funds for two new solar PV systems and a LED system. Our 2019 Share Offer is now CLOSED. We will keep all our members updated on progress early in the New Year. Merry Christmas!
CCEL took part in the Sustainable Chester Winter Fair held on the 23rd November 2019. We used the opportunity to spread the news and get people to know us and what we do for them and for the wider community and what they could do to participate!
