Winners of our Schools’ Sustainability Competition 2022-23

We are absolutely delighted to announce on behalf of our members that Chester Community Energy Ltd has two winners of our School’s Sustainability Competition this year!

Both entries were excellent ideas and the judging panel (Dr Linda Hilton and John Carrier, both Directors at Chester Community Energy Ltd) thought that both projects were worthy winners with great potential for other schools to copy.

  1. £657 goes to team ‘Eco-Club‘ of The Whitby High School in Ellesmere Port
who want to provide 3 animal-character waste-recycling bins to help get the important recycling message across in a fun and attractive way.

Congratulations Eco-Club (Jasmine Haydock, Maksin Dubrovskji, Grace Heaney, Roisin March and Sofia Chapman) and Head of Geography, Mrs N. Hughes.

  1. £250 goes to team ‘Eco-Lution‘ of Upton-by-Chester High School in Chester who want to provide special timers to manage their air-conditioning units at the school in a more effective way and to provide engaging posters to communicate the message to save energy.

Congratulations Eco-Lution (Grace Simmons, Ruby Elner, Emily Middleditch and Isabelle Dunne) and Head of Geography, Mrs K. Mitchell.

Besides the prize awards for the projects listed above, each team member will also receive a £20 shopping voucher.
